Product Data Guardian – Catalog Quality Score & Ad-Ready Feeds
Score every PrestaShop product from 0 to 100, see exactly what data is missing, and keep products that are not ready out of your Google Shopping and Meta feeds before they get rejected, waste ad budget or come back as returns.

About the module
Every catalog has them: products without an EAN, variants without a photo, a two-line description, a title that says “Cotton” while the product is polyester. On their own they look like small issues. In practice they cost you money: rejected items in Merchant Center, ads leading to pages that don’t convert, and customers returning products that didn’t match the description.
Product Data Guardian finds these problems before they cost you sales. It checks every product against rules you define, gives it a 0–100 score and shows you exactly what to fix first. It also generates clean Google Shopping and Meta feeds from the same data.
How it works
- Install the module and run the first scan. The Default profile works immediately.
- Create profiles, or start from a preset, and assign them to your categories.
- Use the Catalog Health dashboard and “Top blockers” to fix the most important problems first.
- Add the feed URLs to Google Merchant Center and Meta Commerce Manager, and optionally turn on the quality filter.
- Schedule scans with cron and watch your score trend go up.
Who it’s for
- Stores advertising on Google Shopping or Meta that want fewer rejected items and less wasted ad budget.
- Merchants preparing for peak seasons such as Black Friday who need to know which products are really ready.
- Large or fast-changing catalogs where manual checks are no longer realistic.
- Stores using ERP or PIM integrations whose key data lives outside standard PrestaShop fields.
- Agencies maintaining catalog quality for their clients.
What this module is not
It does not connect to the Merchant Center or Meta APIs: it provides feed URLs that those platforms fetch, and it does not show their approval status or diagnostics. It does not rewrite your product data; it tells you exactly what to fix and where. It is not a multi-channel feed manager: it supports Google Shopping and Meta only.
What it solves
-
Rejected items in Merchant Center
Products without an EAN, brand, images, price or required attributes get disapproved instead of selling.
-
Ad budget spent on pages that don’t convert
Variants without a photo or products with a two-line description still receive paid clicks, but rarely turn into orders.
-
Returns caused by inconsistent data
A title that says “Cotton” while the product feature says polyester leads to customers returning products that didn’t match the description.
-
Manual checks don’t scale
In a large or fast-changing catalog nobody can review every product and variant before each feed refresh or campaign.
-
Key data hidden outside standard fields
When the real EAN or supplier code lives in a field synced from an ERP, standard tools can’t see it, so they can’t check it either.
Key features
-
Catalog Health dashboard
Average catalog score, ad-ready products, products below threshold and critical issues at a glance, each with the change since the previous scan. “Top blockers” ranks the most frequent problems by priority and number of affected products.
-
“Why this score?” for every product
Every number is clickable and opens the exact list of products behind it. Each product shows which rules failed, the expected versus current value, how many points each problem cost and a hint on how to fix it.
-
Quality profiles per category
Profiles with their own rules, weights and pass threshold, assigned to categories and inherited by subcategories, with a default fallback for every product. Three presets — Google Shopping Ready, Black Friday Ready and Marketplace Ready — let you start in one click.
-
Rules beyond the essentials
Built-in checks for EAN/GTIN, brand, description length, meta title, images and weight, plus per-combination checks for variants. Add stock and price conditions, required product features, title-versus-feature consistency, and rules on any database column, such as an ERP-synced EAN or supplier code.
-
Google Shopping and Meta feeds
Google Shopping (XML) and Meta Catalog (CSV) feeds built live from the same data as the audit, so nothing drifts out of sync. Variants are sent as separate items with item_group_id, discounts as sale_price, and prices are calculated for the country you choose, including taxes, specific prices and catalog price rules.
-
Quality filter with manual overrides
Products below their threshold stay out of your ads automatically. Include or exclude any product per channel by hand, and see on the feed status screen how many products are in each feed and why the others aren’t.
-
Pass/Fail in Catalog > Products and CSV reports
A Pass/Fail column in the standard product list, a module product list with score, issue counts, profile and filters, and a full CSV report with one row per issue for your catalog team.
-
Scheduled scans that work on shared hosting
Scans run in small batches and resume where they stopped, on shared hosting and large catalogs alike. Copy the provided cron command, get an email summary after every scan and follow the score trend chart.
-
Safe by design
The module never changes your product data on its own. Automatic deactivation of low-quality products is optional, off by default and enabled per profile. Every deactivation is logged, and a product is never reactivated automatically: a person confirms it with one click.

Frequently asked questions
Which PrestaShop versions are supported?
PrestaShop 1.7 to 9.2.
Does it connect to the Google Merchant Center or Meta API?
No. The module provides feed URLs that Google Merchant Center and Meta Commerce Manager fetch. It does not show their approval status or diagnostics.
Will it change my product data?
No. It tells you what to fix and where. Automatic deactivation of low-quality products is optional, off by default and enabled per profile; every deactivation is logged and reactivation always needs one click from a person.
Does it work on shared hosting and large catalogs?
Yes. Scans run in small batches and resume where they stopped, so they work on shared hosting and large catalogs alike.
Can it check data that comes from my ERP or PIM?
Yes. Custom column rules can check any database table and column, for example an EAN or supplier code synced from an ERP.
Which sales channels are supported?
Google Shopping (XML feed) and Meta Catalog (CSV feed). It is not a multi-channel feed manager.
What does the license include?
A one-time purchase with 12 months of support.
